More Ways to Give
Become a Foundation Builder
Join our committed donors with a regular monthly donation. These gifts provide a reliable financial foundation on which SafePlace can depend.
Donate in memory or in honor of a loved one or special event. This is a thoughtful way to recognize important people and provide support to survivors of violence. To make a commemorative gift, just include a note with your donation indicating that you wish to make your donation in honor or memory of a specific individual. If it is to honor someone, please include their address so we can send them a card to let them know a gift was made in their name.
Visit our Path to Healing page for more information on ordering an inscribed brick or paver as an honorary or memorial symbol.
Your gift of in-kind goods will help us stretch our dollars, and most will go directly to clients at our shelter or Community Services Office. Visit our Wish List & In-Kind Donations page for more information about our current needs.
Host a Benefit Party or Event
“I sponsor Patient Appreciation Day to raise awareness about domestic violence…and to raise money for SafePlace. Their help for individuals surviving violence is immeasurable. While we have lots of fun, we always have survivors in mind at all times.” ~ Dr. Rick Calcara, Calcara Chiropractic, Host of Annual Patient Appreciation Day
Host a party or event to raise funds and awareness about domestic violence. We can provide speakers and information if you like. Visit our Benefit Party or Event page to find out more.
Visit our Community Benefit Events page to learn about upcoming benefit events.

Transfer Stocks & Bonds
Stocks and publicly traded securities are easy to give and offer great tax advantages. You can transfer stock to us electronically or mail us the stock certificate and a signed stock power for each certificate-please contact the Development office 360-786-8754 x201 and we can work with you through the process. Appreciated securities that you’ve held for more than one year should be transferred to us directly. If you do that, you will not pay capital gains tax and you can deduct the full fair market value. If you are holding securities that have lost value, sell the stock yourself to realize the loss and take the deduction for tax purposes. Then generate a charitable contribution deduction by donating the cash proceeds of the sale to us. Ask your financial planner about giving plans that may offer tax savings while supporting our work.
Bequests and Planned Giving
Some of our donors give by leaving a charitable gift in a will or trust. Bequests are the most popular type of planned gifts. Anything you leave to a charitable organization will reduce the size of your taxable estate while helping a great cause. You can leave a specific bequest of a specified sum of money, a percentage of your estate, or a percentage of the residue to SafePlace after making provisions for family and friends. Ask your financial planner for further information about giving this way. Visit our Planned Giving page for more information.
SafePlace’s EIN number is 91-1153988.
Donate to the SafePlace Legacy Fund
We have set up a Legacy Fund in honor of retired Executive Director Mary Pontarolo’s 35 years of service to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Your donation will help realize Mary’s vision to live in a community free from sexual and domestic violence.
