“My two children and I came here fleeing with absolutely nothing but what I could pack in my car. I was scared and alone. Coming to SafePlace was the last leg in my two year long journey in becoming independent from my abuser. While here, I received so much love and support from the advocates who were ready to talk to me anytime I needed them.”
2019 was an incredibly impactful year for survivors in Thurston County. Last year, SafePlace was able to give the following back to the community:
- Advocated to almost 1,000 clients at our Community Services Center
- Trained 32 volunteers, staff and community members in Advocacy Core Training.
- Provided 6,925 shelter bednights at our confidential Emergency Shelter
- Helped 170 clients access services like eviction prevention, rental assistance, utility & bill payments, and more through the SafePlace Housing program.
