| Volunteer opportunities
Due to the changing needs of SafePlace and our clients,
we have a variety of volunteer opportunities available at
any given time. For this reason, it is best to contact the
volunteer coordinator to find out what volunteer opportunities
exist at the present time. There are two main work areas,
direct services and support services.
Direct services work includes
working directly with clients and residents in our shelter.
This can include anything from co-facilitating support groups,
assisting with activities for the children in the shelter,
or becoming an on-call
sexual assault advocate, and answering our crisis lines.
Support services are volunteer
opportunities that provide support to the overall mission
of the agency. With this type of work, a person has no contact
with clients or residents. Support services work can include
tabling at events in the community, providing office assistance,
helping with bulk mailings, and helping with yard and facility
maintenance. Support service volunteers need only attend
core trainings in order to volunteer.
