Crisis Line advocacy
Trained advocates staff our 24-hour crisis line to provide immediate support to survivors who may still be with their perpetrator. We assist individuals with immediate domestic violence and sexual assault crisis needs, which gives us the opportunity to share with our clients important safety tactics and feedback about their situation. more...

Shelter services
The women and children who stay at our shelter are in immediate life-threatening danger. By providing a safe place to stay we give them the opportunity to rest, live free from fear, and assess the next step in their lives. more...

Walk-in advocacy
On two weekdays, the doors of our business office are open to people in need of emotional support, safety-planning help, information and assistance around issues sexual assault and domestic violence.

Support groups
One of the most effective uses of staff resources is community support groups. By meeting weekly with other survivors, our clients can share their experiences and assist each other in healing, planning their futures and living lives free from violence. Our clients have a need that can only be met by meeting with peers who have lived through the trauma of domestic and sexual violence. more...

Emergency needs assistance
Many of our clients leave their perpetrators with only the clothes on their backs. We provide rental assistance, gas cards, bus tickets, gift certificates, and more to survivors of domestic and sexual violence to aid them in leaving dangerous situations and getting on their feet after leaving abuse.

Legal advocacy
We assist people in obtaining protection orders and we support our clients before, during and after hearings at the Family Court. Furthermore, our bimonthly volunteer legal clinic combines the legal expertise of volunteer attorneys and the skills of SafePlace advocates to offer survivors services essential to their safety.

Medical advocacy
We offer support for people before, during and after the sexual assault examination in the ER. We also offer AIDS education and AIDS tests at the shelter. more...

We offer support to underserved populations, especially the Spanish and Cambodian speaking communities.

Community education
We speak about sexual and domestic abuse issues in schools and colleges, at public events and on the radio.
