Celebrating 5th annual Morning Ascent Breakfast Event

On Oct 3, 2008, SafePlace celebrated the 5th annual Morning Ascent Breakfast event.

The morning’s program highlighted keynote speaker Debbie Wooten, a nationally-renowned comedienne and survivor of domestic violence. Debbie’s message of victim-to-victor moved the guests, making everyone laugh and cry while inspiring generous support for SafePlace.

In addition to the donations from the day of the event, we also received pledges and sponsorships for a grand total of $45,000.  All event proceeds will go to support services such as our 24-hour crisis line, support groups and twice-monthly legal clinics.
